SYNOPSIS Seventy-five years after the end of World War II, two young women still carry upon their shoulders the traumatic journey of the Holocaust. They are in their twenties, bursting with young spirit and fire in their eyes. One (Roni), is completing her national service, working in the “audio guide cellar” at the Holocaust museum. She is the daughter of the Director of the Guiding Department at Yad Vashem and the granddaughter of a survivor who lost his entire family in the Holocaust. The second (Chaya) is a secretary at the film library at Yad Vashem. She is named after her grandmother’s sister, who was murdered in the Ghetto in the name of God and comes from a devout religious family which sanctifies the Holocaust and believes that everything is a “victory over the Nazis.” Between Janusz Korczak Square and the Hall of Names; between the Warsaw Ghetto Square and the Partisans’ Panorama. 3rd Generation is a deep dive into the world of two young women working at Yad Vashem, in search of love among the “corpses” and the piles of shoes. They are the “invisible” employees of the museum, (they don’t even get to wear name tags) and thus in the cafeteria, they will always sit with the cleaning and maintenance staff (their only friends…) Each afternoon, they meet at their regular bench, across from the statue of the starved skeleton. There, they nosh on snacks from the “pit,” (where they hide food) fantasize about the boys with whom they’re in love, and gawk at the tourists who bring with them a refreshing and hypnotizing scent of “abroad.” We will encounter the heroines at their Torah lectures for religious girls, at a Zumba class for Holocaust survivors, a lead role in a Yiddish musical, and romantic night tours at the Holocaust History Museum. 3rd Generation will present the colorfulness of LA LA Land and the sadness of Schindler’s List. To shield him, the family flees to a house they renovated in the Negev desert with another couple, close friends of theirs. They believe they've found refuge, until Rim, a twelve-year-old girl, appears at their door. When Noy learns that Rim is an orphan who escaped from Gaza, she insists on protecting her. But as the others turn against the girl, Noy must choose between saving her and protecting her own family. DIRECTOR'S NOTE Since October 7, the life I have known has been buried under a relentless avalanche. The very foundations of my world - my identity as an Israeli Jew and the stories I want to tell as a filmmaker, have been fractured and undermined. Through Noy’s journey in ״Until You See People״, I ask whether an individual can still act meaningfully in a reality that dismisses voices of reason and humanity as naïve and delusional. Much like Noy’s own path, making this film is an act of hope and a refusal to look away. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER Eilon Bar Tal is a 29-year-old filmmaker, a graduate of Tel Aviv University Film School.
His debut feature film "Estate", premiered in Mar del Plata Film Festival, received an Israeli Academy nomination and is set for theatrical release in late 2026. 
His short film "Mute" won the best film award at Tel Aviv International Student Film Festival 2021, and in 2024 he directed a documentary series named ״Politics in 90 Minutes״ for Israeli Television. ABOUT THE FILMMAKER PRODUCER: Michal Giladi Michal Giladi is an independent film producer from Tel Aviv. She began her career working across a range of film and television productions, gaining hands-on experience in productions. She has since produced several short films that have screened at international film festivals. Her first feature film as an independent producer, ״Estate״, directed by Eilon Bar-Tal, premiered at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival and is scheduled for theatrical release in Israel. The eight episodes, inspired by my experiences, use voice-over monologues to explore each character's past, gradually uncovering their motivations and ties to the narrative, while offering viewers a rare glimpse into a world rarely portrayed on screen. ABOUT THE WRITER A Druze screenwriter, director, and producer known for his work in film and television. His feature film ARABANI is recognized as the first Druze-Israeli film Jerusalem Film Festival award-winner. His 2023 documentary THE THIRD MAN, commissioned by Makan 33 - Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, premiered at the Haifa International Film Festival. Adwan is currently developing a feature film supported by the Israel Film Fund. He also appeared as an actor in the fourth season of FAUDA. PRODUCER'S STATEMENT Adi Adwan, whom I’ve known for nearly 20 years, conceived the idea for the series. We began developing it during our travels up north, searching for locations and further honed it during the workshop. From the beginning, I was drawn to the mystical and religious concepts unfolding within a closed society. The uniqueness of using reincarnation to solve various cases is magical. It's a significant challenge, but Adi's advantage, coming from the Druze community and knowledgeable about its secrets, is immense.
