Oasis Oasis Screenwriters: Orly Arbel Producer/s Orly Arbel , SIPUR Language: Hebrew Format: Genre Send PITCHDECK LOGLINE When the daughter of a passionate park ranger discovers her father died in an explosion in the middle of the desert, she leaves her hectic city life and returns to her hometown to uncover the real cause of his death. SYNOPSIS Maya Shushan (35) is a talented, cool journalist who wrote an article three years ago that was so powerful it was picked up by the New York Times. However, since then, her journalistic career seemed to dry up. She is burned out, her boss threatens to fire her, and her life, in general, is not really as she planned. But then, she gets informed that her father, a passionate Park Ranger, had died in an explosion in the middle of the desert. She leaves her hectic city life and returns to her deserted hometown, even though she really doesn't want to confront her past. When she gets there, it appears that police are spouting nothing but nonsense and lies about her father’s death. She discovers that shady investors with sharp snake boots are starting to build a fancy spa hotel around the beautiful Oasis of the "Ein Devora" reserve, the iconic magical reserve her father protected his entire life. Her instincts awaken: something doesn't feel right. Maya realizes that she needs to stay there a little longer before returning to her dying career in the city. There, in the heart of the desert, alongside her post-traumatic little brother and her long-time high school sweetheart, she tries to come to terms with her mother—a religious and terrifying woman by all accounts. She will do anything to investigate the real cause of her father's death. Soon, Maya finds herself taking up her father's fight in a conflict that is as old as time, the war over one small piece of land. Humanity against nature. Disparate groups fight for control— The hotel investors, the police, the nearby military base, the religious Jewish community, the desert Bedouins, and even the Nature and Parks Authorities. Maya discovers that her sense of purpose, extinguished by city life, has been reignited. After years in Tel Aviv, she discovers that her father's death brings her back to life. - Nayef Hammoud and Gal Rosenbluth
Non-Issue Add a Title Add a Title Send Send Efrat Dror Producers: Gal Rosenbluth , Nayef Hammoud Non-Issue Lab Edition 1 2022 PITCH LOGLINE Fed up with the judgements of others, a millennial Israeli-Palestinian couple escapes to Berlin in the hopes of starting over with a clean slate. But as they build their lives in their new city, they discover they can’t run from their identities. SYNOPSIS Non-Issue is a Palestinian-Israeli dramedy that starts with a one-night stand gone wrong on a beach in Haifa and ends in Berlin. The series follows NAOMI, 27, and ALA, 28, an Israeli-Jewish woman and an Arab with an Israeli passport, who both live in Israel and believe that, in 2022, their relationship is no big deal. But reality reminds them at every turn that it is. Their relationship is put to the test by gossipy friends, parents who forget their liberal values when it comes to their daughter, an ex-fiancé who is also a rising political star on the Israeli left, ecstasy-induced anxiety attacks in Ramallah, a stolen car in Hebron, and the “Morning After” pill. The journey strengthens their love but isolates them from the people closest to them. Finally, they realize that, if they wish to be a “normal couple,” they have no choice but to leave their country. But in Berlin, faced with the hardships of immigration and alienation, each of them clings to the one thing they are familiar with — their identity. This is when the politics of the Middle East and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict invade their love life and drive them apart. Ala befriends people from the Arab world, from countries he could never have gone to: Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia and others. He volunteers at an NGO for Syrian refugees, which is where he meets MAY, a Lebanese-German woman. He falls in love with her and with the Arab world. Meanwhile, Naomi finds her dream job at an Israeli art gallery in Berlin. Her work strengthens her Zionism, as she works at “marketing” Israel. Meanwhile, Germany is becoming less tolerant towards the waves of immigration. Naomi is safe because of her dual Israeli-Polish citizenship, but Ala loses his legal status. They are pushed farther apart. Their relationship finally comes to a head at a gala event at the Israeli gallery, in front of everyone present. Ala moves out of their apartment and gets in trouble with the police, which puts him at risk for deportation. Naomi suggests a deal: a fake wedding. Strictly business. Ala agrees. They get married at the Berlin City Hall, and break up in real life. But then, just before they say goodbye for the last time, their lawyer lets them know they have to keep living together, to keep up appearances for the immigration authorities. ; WRITER'S STATEMENT PRODUCER'S STATEMENT LOOKING FOR Back To Participants HOME SERIES LAB WHO'S WHO MENTORS PROFESSIONAL GUESTS JURY ADVISORY BOARD PARTICIPANTS PARTICIPATION APPLICATION RULES & REGULATIONS FAQ HOME TEAM NEWS LABS SERIES LAB PARTICIPANTS MENTORS PROFESSIONAL GUESTS JURY PARTICIPATION APPLICATION RULES & REGULATIONS SERIES LAB FILM LAB MENTORS JURY DECISION MAKERS SCOUTS AND PITCHING PROFESSIONAL GUESTS PARTICIPANTS & PROJECTS LAB FILMS PARTICIPATION APPLICATION PARTICIPANTS OBLIGATIONS RULES & REGULATIONS FILM FAQ FILM LAB SITE MAP ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT FILM FAQ FAQ PARTICIPATION APPLICATION RULES & REGULATIONS PARTICIPANTS OBLIGATIONS PARTICIPATION REGULATION

- Benjamin Freidenberg and Ihab Jadallah
Territory X Territory X Screenwriters: Ihab Jadallah, Benjamin Freidenberg Producer: Ayelet Kait and Amir Harel , Lama Films Language: Hebrew Format: Send PITCHDECK LOGLINE A family drama about married LGBT Palestinians in East Jerusalem and their families, that focuses on Hussam, a gay, Muslim, Palestinian lawyer, a married father of two, who are all in the process of becoming naturalized Israeli citizens, decides along with his wife, to have the secret male lover he’s kept hidden from everyone, move in with them. SYNOPSIS The series takes place in the Beit Hanina neighborhood of East Jerusalem that borders Bethlehem to the south and Ramallah to the north. The neighborhood’s streets still aren’t considered Israeli territory. With large unpaved areas and public spaces, and unnumbered homes that don’t appear on the map, the Israeli bulldozers start entering the neighborhood and constructing buildings, erecting signs and opening schools that belong to the Israeli ministry of education. All of this takes place while families and homes are being evicted in order to make way for the new construction plan or having been bought out by Jewish settlers and right-wing organizations. The show focuses on a middle-class Palestinian family that’s at an important crossroads in its life – gaining their Israeli citizenship – when an unexpected drama occurs and catches them unprepared. The show’s main character - Hussam - a civil rights lawyer that represents stateless Palestinian clients, is experiencing the most profound personal crisis of his life. After years of hiding, he tells his wife about his relationship with Fuad, a younger man. Manal, a history school teacher at the Beit Hanina high school, isn’t surprised or distraught by his confession, she’s just concerned with how their extended family, neighbors and community might respond. She finds out that Fuad has been over to their house a few times and that the neighbors saw him, and that there’s a rumor going around that Manal and Fuad are having an affair. In order to refute the rumor, Manal has to act fast. Instead of getting divorced or demanding that Hussam break things off with Fuad, Manal and Hussam welcome him into their home and he moves into the small unit in their backyard, in order to keep their relationship and family intact and to prevent any further gossip. They hide Hussam and Fuad’s relationship and present him as one of Hussam’s clients they decided to provide shelter for as a humanitarian gesture. They enjoy the encouragement and support of their inner circles, but their children, Aadil and Hafza (an 11-year-old boy and 13-year-old girl) catch on to what’s really happening in their family right away. The boy defends his parents and Fuad, while the daughter rebels against their narrative and tries to expose their secret. The family finds out about couples and families that share the same lifestyle; that keep a secret from their surroundings, while one of the parents is either a homosexual man or a lesbian woman. Hussam and Fuad find themselves in the secret LGBT circles of Bethlehem and Ramallah, when their secret is revealed to a closed off group of married Palestinian Lesbians and homosexuals that are married to one another for show, or keep the third member of their relationship within the family. These aren’t young people in their 20s, but people with families in their 30s-50s that didn’t run away from home, or move to Tel Aviv or abroad. The identity turmoil they experience is just one part of a larger complex Palestinian drama that’s contains many voices; in the tension between Christians and Muslims, between nationalists and communists, between revolutionaries, activists and conservatists. The characters’ naturalization process includes a declaration of loyalty to the state of Israel and giving up one identity in favor of another, albeit a more promising and financially secure one. But the absurd political, religious, sexual, nationalistic, personal and collective identity confluence - that forces people to fit into a single fixed category, will manifest in this family drama in comical, absurd and touching scenes, that illuminate the family unit in a new, wild, unique and subversive light WRITER'S STATEMENT ABOUT THE WRITERS PRODUCER'S STATEMENT PRODUCER PROFILE PRODUCTION CONTACT DETAILS Back To Participants HOME TEAM NEWS LABS SERIES LAB PARTICIPANTS MENTORS PROFESSIONAL GUESTS JURY PARTICIPATION APPLICATION RULES & REGULATIONS SERIES LAB FILM LAB MENTORS JURY DECISION MAKERS SCOUTS AND PITCHING PROFESSIONAL GUESTS PARTICIPANTS & PROJECTS LAB FILMS PARTICIPATION APPLICATION PARTICIPANTS OBLIGATIONS RULES & REGULATIONS FILM FAQ FILM LAB SITE MAP ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT FILM FAQ FAQ PARTICIPATION APPLICATION RULES & REGULATIONS PARTICIPANTS OBLIGATIONS PARTICIPATION REGULATION 3RD EDITION SERIES CATALOGUE 3RD EDITION PARTICIPANTS AND PROJECTS JURY MENTORS TEAM
