SYNOPSIS

Robbie, a young gay man struggling with sexual trauma and addiction, steals his parents' TV remote in a desperate cry for help. It is wartime, leaving them unable to watch the news. The next day, his father goes out to buy a new remote and is killed in a terror attack. During the week of mourning - the Shiva - Robbie wrestles with overwhelming guilt, finds unexpected comfort in a renewed closeness with his mother, and is drawn into sexual and emotional encounters that threaten his fragile sobriety.

DIRECTOR'S NOTE

My film confronts life in Israel and the moral dilemmas it entails, exploring how political trauma is inseparable from personal trauma. I believe our reality can no longer be defined by politicians serving interests or manufactured narratives. Instead, my film is a social and political act that seeks to inspire hope: that life in Israel can be better for everyone if we have the courage to confront our collective or personal wounds and demons, and begin to heal.
