A young Hasidic couple escapes the Gur community in search of forbidden intimacy, within the vast openness between Arad and the Red Sea. A journey of physical and emotional redemption - through body, through sin, and through the desert.
ABOUT THE FILMMAKER
Brachi Haisherik is a screenwriter and director from the Gur Hasidic community in Ashdod, bringing a bold new voice and an ambivalent, deeply personal gaze into Israeli cinema. Her feature documentary Love in Hard Places (in production) is supported by Kan 11, Gesher Film Fund, and the DocuStart and Impact Labs, and won the IMPACT Pitch Award at the 2025 Jerusalem Film Festival. Her short Floortime (2025) premiered at the Haifa Film Festival and received a Special Mention at IndieFEST. Her earlier works have screened internationally and within the ultra-Orthodox women’s cinema scene across Israel.

Tammy Cohen is an independent producer. Amongst the projects she produced are TV series The Fire Dance (2022), the animated feature film Legend of Destruction which was nominated for Best Film at the Israeli Film Academy Awards, and short film Floortime (2025) by Brachi Haisherik. The films and series she produced won recognition and awards in Israel and around the world, were shown at leading film and TV festivals including Venice, Berlin, Sundance, and Series Mania, and were distributed worldwide.
